Boating
The Ferryside based yacht club is active and accepts holiday membership. It has a slipway, changing, storage and bar facilities. The club and railway station is just 1/2 mile from the hotel.
Fishing
The estuary is a Bass protection zone. Carmarthen bay is well recognised as one of the most productive areas for summer sea fish species especially Sea Bass. The hotel is a haunt for sea-anglers and a wealth of knowledge can be gained from the staff and guests.
Walking
There are a number of designated walks in the area and are mapped and listed in a Carmarthenshire walks leaflet. The hotel organises feature walks around the area.
Bathing
Sea bathing is recommend for only about an hour before and after high water. Bathing in the Three Rivers swimming pool is excellent during all opening times.
Out and about nearby in Ferryside on the Carmarthenshire sea front, view toward the roman castle at Llansteffan.
Cycling
Ferryside is on the Celtic cycle trail. The hotel has a designated cyclists facility. Being just 1/2 mile from the railway station, the hotel makes an ideal "train and cycle" centre.
Bird Watching
Ferryside is at the centre of about ten square miles of tidal estuary and common marshland. The diversity of bird life can be viewed easily from the cliff roads or paths. The more dedicated would probably hide in the marshes. Ferryside is the ideal centre for touring South West Wales from Swansea and the Gower in the east to Tenby and the Pembrokeshire beaches in the west.
